Servants of Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him)

  The Arba’een Walk [Kamil al-Ziyarat, Page 255] I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (al-Sadiq) say:  “Allah will register one thousand good deeds and erase one thousand bad deeds for every step taken by those who go to the Ziyarah of the grave of al-Hussain on foot. He will also increase their status one thousand times (for every step taken).  When you arrive at the Euphrates, perform Ghusl, carry your shoes,  and walk barefoot like a humble slave.  Once you arrive at the door of the Shrine, recite Takbir four times. Then walk a little and repeat this four more times. Then approach the location close to his head, stand there and repeat it four more times. Ziyarah to Karbala more virtuous than Hajj? Introduction : [Kamil al-Ziyarat by ibn Qulawayh] Hadith 1:  ‘Abu Ja’far Imam al-Baqir said :  “Allah,most High, created Karbala 24,000 years before the Ka’aba  and made it the most superior Paradise on Earth. ”’ Hadith 2:   ‘I said to Imam al-Sadiq, “May I be sacrificed on you, I cannot afford to go to Hajj every year.” The Imam replied: If you ever wanted to go to the Hajj but could not afford it,  go to the Ziyarat of Imam al-Hussain, for indeed it will be recorded as a Hajj for you.  And if you ever wanted to go for Umrah but could not afford it, go to the Ziyarat of Imam Hussain, for indeed it will be recorded as an Umrah for you.”’ At first glance one may be doubtful of the contents of ahadith such as this, but upon inspection we find this to in fact be viable and true.   Is Ziyarat Ashura authentic? In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. Ziyarat Ashura is of the most popular ziyarāt narrated from the Imams of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them. The earliest sources for this Ziyarah are Kamil al-Ziyarat by Ibn Qulawayh and Misbah al-Mutahajjid by Sheikh al-Tusi, both of whom are reliable and highly praised classical scholars of the Shi’ite community.
